I’m excited to share that the My XXY | Chromodiversity Foundation is hosting an Extraordinary Inclusive Experience for Extraordinary Kids on October 19th in Denver!

This unique event is designed for children aged 10-15 with an extra chromosome (XXY, XXX, XYY - 1 in 500 kids) and will be led by Brock Vestrum, a role model diagnosed with an extra X at age 36. The experience aims to boost self-confidence and unlock individual strengths.

The camp will take place at the award-winning NSCD Sports Center and the Movement Gym. Participants can choose from instructor-led activities tailored to their interests and strengths, such as rock climbing, bouldering, lawn and board games, supported socializing, archery, mountain biking, and constructive play.

Alongside the day’s activities, the program includes a pre-event review to identify each child's strengths and needs, as well as post-event access to the foundation's 'Chromodiversity for Families' support tool. To our knowledge, this is the first experience of its kind in the US, inspired by research on character strengths in Extra X&Y Kids (Talia Thompson et al., 2022) and the Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago KidS Camp Research Program, where Brock serves as an inspirational mentor.

Space is limited to 10 kids, including siblings. All funds go to charity, and early bird registration is available until September 18 for $249. For more information or details on other locations and dates, contact Brock at [email protected]. To sign up, click here: https://lnkd.in/eGWwqmKD

This is one of my favorite takeaways from The Neuroverse Virtual Summit.

The concept of "yes... and" is part of responding in curiosity and creating true internal growth.
