Highlights
I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Corporate Vice President, HR Strategy, Analytics and Workforce Planning at Microsoft!
I am hugely grateful for the last few years serving as McKinsey & Company's Chief People Officer, and for the incredible team that worked tirelessly to build on the heritage strengths of our Firm to attract and develop distinctive talent around the world. I am honored to pass the baton to Ozgur Tanrikulu who is now leading McKinsey's people function globally and amplifying the unique strengths that McKinsey brings to clients into the Firm's second century.
It is no secret that the talent landscape continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace. From the potential of generative AI to enhance productivity and unleash the "superpowers" of people; to using real-time data and analytics to redefine teamwork (or what I call "teamwork as a science"); and to shifting to skills-based hiring and development, this is an exciting time for HR leaders who have the opportunity to shape next generation talent strategies.
I'm excited to share that this week, I have started a new chapter in my career as CVP, HR Strategy, Analytics and Workforce Planning at Microsoft. I can think of no better place, nor HR organization where I can contribute to this transformational moment and our collective venture into the future of work.
Last week I had the pleasure of joining #HandshakeAccess 2024 to discuss a truly exciting topic for people leaders today: the value of gen AI for reshaping the early talent journey.
A few key takeaways from our conversation:
💻 Gen AI is not just for computer science majors—everyone can benefit!
🤖 Technology provides a gateway for equitable access and helps shape the learning curve
💼 AI-powered tools allow companies to expand their talent pools through skills-matching
📈AI boosts productivity—for both the company and its workforce
🫂With the progression of technology, companies still need to embrace the crucial people skills that AI cannot replicate
Thanks again to Chris Howard and Valerie Capers Workman for the great discussion.
