Ending the youth mental health crisis requires a team effort.

The #healthcare and #education industries both have big roles to play.

It’s inspiring to see the range of venture-backed digital health startups addressing youth mental health in the healthcare industry. These companies sell to health plans, employers, providers, governments & Medicaid. About half also sell direct to consumer. (To learn about their biz models, find a link to a new report from Rock Health in the comments).

At SuperBetter, we believe the education industry is an equal stakeholder in the quest to end the global youth mental health crisis -- not only through their mental health counseling centers, but also in classrooms and other non-clinical settings.

Schools are a place where young people spend much of their time everyday and, perhaps more than any other industry, education has the most to lose from the youth mental health crisis.

For colleges & universities, the prevalence of mental heath struggles across their student populations negatively impacts student success & retention. In K12 schools, it hinders academic performance, attendance, positive student behaviors, etc.

Some digital health companies target health services in education, but there is also a need for practical, tech-enabled tools that directly empower the academic side of the industry.

SuperBetter Classroom empowers the education industry with a mindset intervention that improves mental health, resilience & social-emotional skills. It teaches students to use SuperBetter's Live Gamefully® methodology, a powerful mental framework to overcome obstacles in all of life.

SuperBetter is backed by 5 published studies. The latest, a randomized controlled trial from Harvard, et al, shows that students using SuperBetter had significant reductions in anxiety/depression at 6-months.

We're cheering for our digital health allies working to improve access to care in the healthcare industry, and are proud to play our part to equip the education industry to empower students with skills & resources that reduce the prevalence of anxiety & depression.

We are surrounded by allies. 🤝
