This time of year really gets me excited--I hope you can join us for the 2024 #MonumentImpact Annual Gala. No other organization does more to help local immigrants. Help if you can.
Not my typical post. I am known more for my positive outlook but when a large company uses it's policies to take advantage of you, it is worth sharing...
A while back, we opened a subscription with #CopperCRM. While we were generally happy with their functionality there is NO WAY I would ever recommend them to any #startup trying to track #sales and/or use them for customer relationship management. After a couple of years of using Copper, we pivoted our business model and no longer needed it. When they billed me in advance for the upcoming year, I declined and explained our pivot. This was their response: "Too late--we already billed you for the services we have yet to provide you. Pay up or your credit will suffer". I was stunned. They refused to stand down insisting that deep in the bowels of there EULA was language giving them the ability to bill in advance and they needed formal written notice of cancelation before they billed. Who among us knows our renewal date? They would not even let me reduce the number of seats they were asking me to pre-pay for!!! I don't know about anyone else but I find this to be highly predatory. I believe #google owns CRM so there is no fighting the big guy. I reluctantly paid for this service I will not be using because I did not want to ruin our credit. However, I am revisiting all other google tools that we use and will be migrating to alternatives as soon as possible. I know this won't hurt google but we are doing this for our own self protection. If you use this software, then be wary of practices like these and by all means use #Salesforce if you can.
