"Instantaneous settlement in the regulated securities market is essential in order to compete with asset classes such as cryptocurrency which offers instant liquidity and other conveniences, Securities and Exchange Board of India chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch said."
First time, I have seen a securities regulator articulate so clearly the USP of crypto & tokenized assets & the threat they pose to conventional financial markets. Digital assets will force accelerate the pace of innovation across financial services.
Happy BITSians' Day!
Luck has played a huge role in how my life has turned out. Joining BITS Pilani in August 1996 was also largely luck.
Many of my good friends were eligible for an admission to BITS (coz of their high school marks) & chose to attend. Instead of enrolling at law school (which I had decided on), at the last moment, I chose to join my friends and attend an engineering college that was 2300 kms (48 hours door-to-door by train) away. A college I hadn't heard of 2 months before I decided to enroll.
A spur of the moment decision, taken as a teenager, that has defined what I am in so many ways. Am so grateful.
