Laura Meng

Using human-centered design to inspire social change.

Laura Meng is a professional with a background in business administration and a strong passion for tackling social inequity through innovative and human-centric design.

Originally from Xingtang, China, a rural county in need of poverty alleviation, Laura's upbringing fueled her ambition to achieve an affluent lifestyle, which she successfully pursued through academic achievements and professional roles in finance and strategy analysis.

Despite reaching great heights in her career, Laura felt a sense of disconnect and lack of authenticity, leading her to rediscover her purpose rooted in empathy for marginalized communities.

Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact, Laura embarked on a journey to develop skills in design thinking and social change, ultimately finding her calling in using creative problem-solving to address complex social challenges.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, Laura has gained valuable experience through roles at organizations like Spin, Bomoda, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse Founder Securities Ltd, and Marcus & Millichap.

Through her time at Designlab's UX Academy, Laura honed her skills in human-centered design to challenge narratives contributing to social inequity and create impactful solutions for a more equitable world.
