Lauren Bryant

DPTc

Lauren Bryant is a 3rd-year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student at the University of California, San Francisco, with a keen interest in the abdominal canister and the interconnectedness of the human body. She is deeply passionate about serving underserved populations, particularly focusing on pregnancy and postpartum exercise, and is committed to fostering strong relationships with healthcare colleagues. Lauren is contemplating pursuing a pelvic health residency to advance her expertise in the field.

During her doctoral studies, Lauren has achieved notable accomplishments, including presenting a case report on Pelvic Girdle Pain Postpartum at CSM 2020 and conducting research on Physical Therapist Burnout. In addition to her academic pursuits, she has taken on roles such as a Teaching Assistant for Psychosocial Issues in Physical Rehabilitation and engaged in elective coursework covering various specialties like running rehab, movement biomechanics, ICU PT, and Medicare Part D for low-income seniors.

Her educational background includes studying Writing Seminars, Global Environmental Change and Sustainability at The Johns Hopkins University for her Bachelor of Arts and completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of California, San Francisco. Lauren also pursued Chinese Studies and Service Learning in Beijing at CET Academic Programs and attended High School at Phillips Exeter Academy.

Throughout her academic journey, Lauren has been actively involved in various organizations and roles, such as serving as a Student of Physical Therapy at UCSF/SFSU, engaging in Leadership and Teaching Experiences at the University of California, San Francisco, volunteering at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, working as a Physical Therapy Aide at Ronning Physical Therapy, and holding positions in insurance, benefits, education, and community enrichment at several institutions.

Additionally, Lauren has interned at organizations like the Port Discovery Children's Museum, Green Earth Volunteers, USGBC-Central Texas Balcones Chapter, Fair Housing of Marin, and served as an Outdoor Instructor at the Johns Hopkins Outdoors Club. These experiences have enriched her skill set and provided her with a diverse perspective on healthcare, education, and community engagement.
