Lauren Weinstein is a design researcher and social designer specializing in social innovation, combining sociological insights with human-centered design for creative problem-solving.

With a background in community development and participatory design, Lauren's work focuses on leveraging intentional and inclusive design to enhance social systems, restore power balance, and drive innovation in public service delivery.

Having spearheaded various impactful projects such as introducing an SMS-based feedback program for rural health clinics and collaborating with Indigenous communities on designing innovative strategies, Lauren has witnessed the transformative power of co-design and social innovation in addressing systemic challenges.

Throughout her career, Lauren has collaborated with international design experts, resilient communities, and political influencers, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and knowledge sharing in driving positive change.

Her expertise spans end-to-end social innovation, project management, design research, participatory decision-making, service design, capability building, community-led innovation, and systems design thinking, among other key areas.

Lauren holds a Master of Arts in Social Design from The Maryland Institute College of Art, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Environmental Studies from Bucknell University, and has pursued Sustainable Development Studies at The School for Field Studies.

Previously, she has held roles such as Principal of Design Research and Inclusive Innovation at The Australian Centre for Social Innovation, Senior Social Innovator at the same institution, and various design positions at organizations like Reboot, Paperwhite Studio, and Mama's Sauce, accumulating extensive experience in driving impactful social change.
