📚 Happy World Book Day! 📚
This year is the first time I’m celebrating World Book Day, and in a fun way — through the eyes of my daughter who got to dress up as her favourite book character for school.
As we were getting ready this morning, I couldn’t help but think about my own ‘book journey’ and how reading has shaped me as a person, with each book on our bookshelf marking different chapters in my life. From the first non-fiction book I read in 2019, picked up by chance at the airport en route to our honeymoon (This Is What Inequality Looks Like by Teo You Yenn), to the first book I read cover to cover post-partum (Unbound by Heather Boushey), these books have expanded and shaped my perspective. Fiction continues to hold its place and at the top of my reading stack now are Our Missing Hearts by Celeste Ng and The Great Passage by Shion Miura.
Of course, a post about books wouldn’t be complete without recognising the literary heroes among us: our local publishers Ethos Books and Epigram who are laying the building blocks of Singapore’s narrative and our national literary identity.
Happy World Book Day, everyone!

Energised to begin my morning at Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB)’s 2024 EDB Connect on sustainability, innovation, supply chain and talent ⚡️
Singapore is always looking ahead and we are able to dream big because we have the commitment of companies who are looking at the bigger picture. Special mention today to GoNetZero™ (sustainability), 3M (innovation), UPS (supply chain) and ADP (talent development).
And of course, it wouldn’t be an EDB event if it didn’t feel like a reunion. So great to catch up with my old team Clare Lee Charlotte Lim Izyan Atiqah Ariffin Alyssia Lam Melissa Guan 🙌🏼
