Hey... me again...
So, I was part of this lovely group call the other day, sharing thoughts on purpose and meaning. And it got me - yet again - how fundamentally simple and humble our ideas on purpose and meaning are.
We mostly just want to create and connect. We want to be helpful. We want to ease pain and friction. We want to laugh. A lot. We talked about nature and stars. And I thought of the billion points of starlight that are the harmonious, threaded networks of the universe.
I think the truth is that we all just want to be a light for each other. A high beam in the dark. A little glow for our seedling selves. A fiery luminosity on what must be noticed. Steady some days and disco strobe the others.
I’ve always had it in my head that I (note the “I”) had to change the world to “be of good use.” But maybe the real work is way simpler. Maybe it’s enough to be one of the small stars that thread our (quite wounded), complicated constellation back together.
So... Go be a star. ; )
