Lindsey Bartlett Mosvick is the Director of the Center for Women & Gender Equity at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She assumed this role in March 2023, where she is responsible for departmental budgeting, supervising full-time staff, and overseeing an undergraduate peer educator team.23
Prior to her current position, Mosvick served as the assistant director for violence prevention at the University of Mississippi's Counseling Center. Highlights
Starting off this summer week in higher ed reflective about the change that can happen in a year, about a year since I was named director. I'm thrilled to say our Center for Women & Gender Equity has reached four full time staff members for 2024-2025 and now we are all in place. The joy and gratitude I feel, especially to Elena Steinhaus and Kalyani E. Kannan for trusting me and moving their lives to PA, is deep and meaningful. They are total rock stars, and I look forward to watching them thrive and hold space for their continued growth. On the other hand, there's still processing from living in a place of understaffing for so long. Here's to an incredible year ahead with Elena, Kalyani, and Dana Pratt - we truly have a dream team who have the opportunity to reflect and build the future of our Center and the work we do at WCU moving forward. In a time where liberation and social justice work can feel isolating and challenging, we can cultivate the community we want to see in the world.
It is fall graduation season at WCUPA and my partner was out of town for work so I was sad to miss the fall Kente celebration. I respect the work of the Dowdy Multicultural Center and the leadership of Chyna Hart, M.S. in this critical event so much I brought my half day kindergartener along to help with the set up process. An added bonus was getting to welcome Denice Velez back to campus for an evening! C loved getting to use tape, laying out the stoles on seats, and the pure joy of getting to see himself on the video screen dancing on the graduation stage. An opportunity to expand his learning, a way to support my valued colleagues, and a snack at the end made the bringing him along worthwhile. We got to watch the livestream that night and enjoy the celebration. Happy fall graduation season and winter break to my higher ed colleagues! Congrats to the DMC, Chyna, Martin, Angela and all their student staff on another joyful convening!
