Dr. Lisa L. Lorenzen is a highly accomplished professional with a solid educational background in Genetics, holding a Ph.D. from Iowa State University, where she also completed her undergraduate studies with honors. Along with her academic achievements, she obtained a Leadership Certificate from MIT in 2013 and became an Authorized Mediator in 2019. Dr. Lorenzen currently serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Technology Advancement at the University of Missouri-Columbia, a role that involves evaluating the marketability of university inventions, managing intellectual property protection processes, negotiating license agreements, and fostering university-industry collaborations. Before joining MU, she gained valuable experience at Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., and spent two decades at Iowa State University, where she held various positions related to economic development, industry relations, and technology transfer. Notably, she served as President of the ISU Research Foundation and led the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for nine years. Dr. Lorenzen is actively involved in the technology and biotechnology sectors, having served on several boards, including the Technology Association of Iowa, Ames Economic Development Commission, UIDP, Iowa Biotechnology Association, ISU Research Park, and Ames Seed Capital.
