Highlights
When I hear "DEI hire," I assume that at least 6 out of the following 7 characteristics are true:
- Has worked twice as hard as anyone else to get where they are
- Has worked twice as long as anyone else to rise to the top
- Is more talented than most of their peers
- Has been passed over numerous times for promotions by someone less qualified
- Has had to make lateral moves in organizations to extract themselves from toxic situations
- Posses unique perspectives and experiences that can be additive to any discussion
- Has had to prove themselves over and over again
I don’t know, maybe I’m just biased.

If you’re an executive looking for a new career opportunity right now, I see you! It’s a TOUGH market. And while I’m no labor analyst, there’s definitely a disconnect happening. We see thousands of new jobs being created, but what I know and hear from leaders in my network is that they are not seeing a lot of opportunities.
It’s worse for women.
C-suite jobs are challenging to come by. The number of interviews is taxing, there are changing requirements, and a lot of indecision.
I created @CEOX to identify the highest-level leaders and connect them to those hiring. If you need to know more, please reach out!
