Lucas Caretta

Howard M. Reisman Assistant Professor of Engineering

Lucas Caretta is an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at Brown University, focusing on designing and manipulating magnetic and electronic properties of oxide thin films. His research spans from atoms to devices, aiming to develop innovative physics in oxide materials for future memory, logic, sensing, and energy conversion technologies. Prior to Brown, he was a UC President's Postdoctoral Fellow and a Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley, working on emergent phenomena in multiferroic and magnetic structures. Caretta completed his Ph.D. at MIT, making notable contributions to magnetic soliton dynamics.
