Makini Nyanteh is the Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs at the American Institutes for Research (AIR).

With over 25 years of experience in professional communications leadership, she has worked in various industries from pharmaceuticals to the federal government.

Her expertise includes strategic communications, media relations, senior executive consultation, marketing, and diversity communications.

Makini holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is actively involved in adjunct teaching.

She has served on advisory boards, was the past president of the International Association of Business Communicators, Washington D.C. Metro Chapter, and is currently a Board Member of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington and the Public Affairs Council. Makini is also the founder of the Kojensen Foundation.
