Hey folx - would love your help! I'm both honored and excited to be creating the "We All We Got: Shifting from Self Care to Collective Vitality" session at #sxswedu2024 alongside these three incredible lifeforce women - Aisha Bain, Elyse Burden and Michelle Sadrena Pledger, Ed.D. TLDR: Watch our shared passion clip below and vote for our collective workshop: https://lnkd.in/gKMEdWw4 (voting ends in 2 days so appreciate your support!)

Why am I creating this session - whats the need? I've come to #SXSW with my Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford ( d.school ) team for the past two years and noticed that amidst the sheer tidal wave of information, connection, excitement, that there was limited to no spaces to just breathe, process and come together. Educators come for inspiration but need spaces of rejuvenation given the work that we do. We know the burnout rate is higher than ever yet conferences often repeat the same pattern of GO GO GO that educators are faced with in the classroom. What we need are spaces to slow down, reflect, experience joy. As both an educator and a practioner at the intersection of social justice and design, I know* and have seen how individualized "self-care" isn't serving us. These dynamic women and I are planning to share collective practices and create an experience in which you can truly be present with one another, hear each others stories, play a bit together and take a real soulful breath. I promise you will leave with your cup running so full.

We need each other - that's the only way we can move forward in this rollercoaster world we live in. I hope you lean into this joy with us and allow us to create this space for you.

With gratitude always - Manasa
