This photo was a game changer this week

🇦🇷 Back from 2 weeks in Buenos Aires introducing my toddler to his large extended family in person. Of my 5 times to Argentina this was my first as a dad and something really stood out.

🤯 Buenos Aires immigration, customs, and the airport security gives priority to families traveling with a toddler aged 3 & under (among other groups too). It makes a huge difference when you have an overtired little one. Trust me, the people on the normal line are thankful too.

😐 For comparison, Houston airport only gives priority to people in wheelchairs, crew, and diplomats.

Why the post?

  1. Just a friendly reminder that high value, low effort solutions exist in the world

  2. If any contacts are working on US airport projects, here's a little inspo 😉

In 2024 I've been working with an underrepresented founder get her company ready for a seed raise. We were introduced by her pre-seed backer. Last week she signed a multimillion dollar term sheet at the post money valuation and terms she wanted 🥂

It's no small feat as only 2% of US VC money in 2023 went to women founders and a much smaller slice of that to minority women, which she is.

Here's 5 things I did to help her on her mission 🚀 :

1️⃣ Built a PRFAQ to align on a future vision and answering key questions on how to get there (somewhere Andrew Hamel is smiling)

2️⃣ Built a tight pitch deck that passes the Khosla Ventures pitch deck test

3️⃣ Built a bottoms up proforma and TAM/SAM/SOM backed by market research and SME interviews

4️⃣ Ran 2 strategic planning offsites to get alignment & generate bursts of momentum

5️⃣ Ran investor relations meetings and comms to keep pre-seed investors and potential seed stage investors engaged

One of the reasons I started Accelero Advisory was to help enable other people's success, whether it's a founder of a start up or a c-level exec in a large company. When that person personifies grit and perseverance, it's even better.
