In a year where more than 20,000 jobs in journalism were eliminated, and media companies are facing off against AI companies in a bid to determine the future of news, this is a clarion call for why journalism and media remains relevant.

"Contrary to the widespread notion that speaking truth to power means being antagonistic and cold, journalists can, instead, act as a care-taking profession — one that soothes and nurtures. And we are among the only professions that can do so at a scale commensurate with the scope of the crises before us. We can make people who feel invisible feel seen. We can make everyone else look."

Earlier this year, I jumped at the chance to spend 2023 revitalizing the Global Philanthropy Forum, a legacy Bay Area brand. Leading this year's team was incredibly fun, as we built a new vision and team focused around DEI. And it was a great privilege to showcase so many amazing philanthropy leaders from around the world.

My time with GPF is done, and I'm looking for my next horizon, hopefully focused on building brand reputation, enabling diverse teams and scaling high potential projects. If you hear of anything, please let me know! #opentowork
