Her professional journey includes significant roles such as Programme Officer - Head of Programme, Performance Management Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst, Emergency Officer, and Reports Officer at the World Food Programme, highlighting her extensive experience in the field.

Mari Hassinen's early career included research roles at Turku School of Economics, where she served as a Researcher, Research Associate, and Research Assistant, laying the foundation for her future endeavors in the development sector.
