Mariangela Panniello

Mariangela Panniello is a Neuroscientist with expertise in sensory systems physiology and a background in general biology. Currently a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Oxford, she focuses on studying how cortical circuits encode sensory information for perception and learning.

Passionate about science policy and public engagement, Mariangela believes in involving the general public in scientific endeavors for a more transparent and inclusive scientific community. She possesses transferable skills such as being an enthusiastic researcher, team player, and having strong communication and presentation abilities.

Mariangela's educational background includes a DPhil in Physiology, Anatomy, and Genetics from the University of Oxford, a PhD in Molecular Biophysics from Scuola Normale Superiore, an MSc in Molecular Neurobiology from Università di Pisa, and a BSc in Biological Sciences from Università di Bologna.

With experience as a Marie-Sklodowska Curie Fellow at the Italian Institute of Technology, and as a former Postdoctoral Research Scientist at both the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia and the University of Oxford, Mariangela has a diverse range of research and professional experiences.
