Marita Manley is a versatile professional with a background in economics and a passion for sustainable development.

Currently serving as the Director of two small companies - Talanoa Consulting, a Pacific-focused development consultancy, and Talanoa Treks, a hiking social enterprise in Fiji.

She is an analyst, connector, and avid sharer of information with expertise in economics, agribusiness, climate change, resilience, gender and social inclusion, and sustainable tourism.

Marita's consultancy work involves tackling challenging questions like creating sustainable agribusinesses, improving value chains for women and marginalized communities, and promoting women's leadership for resilience building.

Her academic achievements include a Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental and Resource Economics with Distinction from UCL and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics with honors from the University of Cambridge.

With a background working for organizations like GIZ, Secretariat of the Pacific Community, and the UK Government, Marita has experience in policy development, consultation processes, proposal development, program design, and monitoring and evaluation, all backed by strong analytical skills.

Her venture into the hiking social enterprise was born from a desire to address environmental conservation, women's economic empowerment, sustainable tourism, and community-market linkages.

Marita is driven by a curiosity to understand the 'why' behind evidence and behaviors, enabling her to effectively tackle significant global challenges.

Through her diverse experiences and educational background, Marita Manley remains committed to utilizing her expertise to drive positive change and sustainable development initiatives.
