Marnie Lloydd is a legal professional with a diverse background in international law and humanitarian assistance.

She is currently a lecturer at Victoria University of Wellington, having joined the Law Faculty in 2020.

Marnie pursued her doctoral research with the Laureate Program in International Law at Melbourne Law School, where she was a recipient of the University of Melbourne's Human Rights Scholarship.

Her educational qualifications include an LLM in International Law in Armed Conflict from the University of Geneva, an MA in International Humanitarian Assistance from Ruhr University of Bochum, and an LLB (Hons 1st class) and BA in Linguistics from Victoria University of Wellington.

Prior to her academic pursuits, Marnie worked for over a decade with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as a Protection Delegate and Legal Adviser, with deployments in various countries and providing legal expertise on international humanitarian and human rights law.

She also has experience working as an International Humanitarian Law & Policy Manager at New Zealand Red Cross, a Legal Consultant at UNHCR, a Special Advisor at ICRC, a Legal Associate/Editor at European Centre for Minority Issues, and a Solicitor at Kensington Swan.
