Martha Garcia-Murillo

Martha Garcia-Murillo is a distinguished professor at Syracuse University, with a specialization in communications and information policy.

Her extensive research focuses on the policy challenges and implications of digital convergence, particularly interested in the transition process and its effects on regulatory frameworks as technology advances.

Prof. Garcia's work includes in-depth analysis of digital inclusion issues, ranging from macro-level universal service programs to micro-level projects engaging youth in technology-related fields.

She serves as the faculty advisor to BLISTS, the Black and Latino Information Studies Support group, guiding students towards educational and professional success through community involvement.

Martha Garcia-Murillo is currently engaged in writing a book on Theory Construction, a book chapter on process theory development, and a paper on Innovation and Regulation in Argentina.

Her specialties include telecommunications regulation, convergence, information access, leadership, and theory construction.

Prof. Garcia completed her Ph.D. in Economics, Political Economy, and Public Policy at the University of Southern California.
