Marwan M. Kraidy is the Dean & CEO of Northwestern University in Qatar and also holds a named chair and tenured appointment at Northwestern University School of Communication.

Previously, he served as the Anthony Shadid Chair in Global Media, Politics, and Culture at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Kraidy is known for founding the Center for Advanced Research in Global Communication (CARGC).

Kraidy is a renowned scholar in the field of global communication with a focus on Arab media. His expertise includes Global Media, Culture, and Geopolitics; Comparative Media Systems; Arab Media, Culture, and Politics; Media Industries such as Reality Television and Music Video; as well as Theories of Identity and Modernity.

He has an extensive educational background, having studied at St Joseph Antoura and earned a Ph.D. in Mass Communication, an M.A. in Telecommunications, and a B.A. in Communication Arts from various universities.

Throughout his career, Kraidy has held positions at esteemed institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University, and the American University of Beirut. He has been a recipient of prestigious fellowships from organizations like the Carnegie Corporation of New York and has published over 130 essays and numerous books.

Actively engaged in academic discourse, Kraidy has presented lectures globally and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Council for Learned Societies in New York. Additionally, he is active on Twitter, where he shares insights and updates at @MKraidy.
