Dr. Mary Jo Gonzales is a dedicated professional with a wealth of experience in higher education, specializing in student affairs, learning, leadership, mentoring, assessment, and organizational development. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from Washington State University, an M.A. in Communication from Washington State University, a B.A. in Communication Studies from San Jose State University, and has a background in Agricultural Education from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.

As Vice President of Student Affairs at Washington State University, Dr. Gonzales plays a pivotal role in shaping the student experience and fostering a supportive environment for academic and personal growth. Her previous positions include Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students at the University of Rhode Island, Interim Vice President of Student Affairs at the University of Rhode Island, Associate Dean of Students at Iowa State University, Director of the Academic Success Center at Dickinson State University, and Director of the EES/TRiO Student Support Service Program at Dickinson State University.

Dr. Gonzales has also contributed to the academic community as a Doctoral Graduate Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Washington State University, as well as a Personnel Assistant at the Student Union at San Jose State University. Her extensive background underscores her commitment to student success and her expertise in organizational leadership, training, and education.
