When it comes to AI, one one hand, I find it funny that tech hasn't learned the lessons of the past and, on the other hand, I'm saddened to hear about the continued layoffs as AI isn't paying off, at least in the short term.

Perhaps it is time to stop hyping the "next big thing" and focus on business fundaments? Yes, we have a shiny new hammer, and it is nifty. But what is the actual business problem we are trying to solve with that hammer? And how does this actually make your products better, to the point that more customers will use and pay for it?

This new cycle of tech boom and bust also highlights tech executives' lack of responsibility for their poor decisions. Instead of taking any kind of hit themselves, they layoff thousands of workers. At worst, they are forced out of the company with a golden parachute. When will this stop?

Ok, I'm off my soapbox for the moment. Hope y'all are weathering these weird times, hang in there!
