Matthew Nienow is a highly accomplished poet and boat builder with a vast array of professional experiences and accolades.

He is the author of three chapbooks and his poetry has been featured in prestigious magazines and anthologies such as AGNI, POETRY, and New England Review.

Matthew has been recognized with awards from significant institutions like the National Endowment for the Arts and the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference.

His educational background includes an MFA in poetry from the University of Washington, a BA in English with a focus on Creative Writing and Latin American Studies from St. Olaf College, and traditional smallcraft studies at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding.

In addition to his writing and poetry expertise, Matthew is skilled in boat building, carpentry, furniture making, and hardwood floor installation and refinishing.

He has held various positions in organizations such as freelance boat builder for boats of all kinds, Contributing Editor at Toadlily Press, Writer-in-Residence at Seattle Arts & Lectures, and Instructor at the University of Washington.
