Professional Background
Mauricio García Ballinas is a highly accomplished leader in the field of education and technology management, with a long-standing association with Tecnológico de Monterrey. From 2001 to 2004, he was at the helm of the Information Technology department at the Tec de Monterrey in Veracruz, where he successfully led the team to achieve the first place in group services related to IT and network administration for three consecutive years.
In the following two years (2004-2006), Mauricio focused on enhancing financial management within the institution. His efforts resulted in a remarkable improvement in overdue accounts, reducing the figure to just 1.5%. Under his leadership, the Institute’s operational profitability soared above 16% annually, and operational expenditures were effectively controlled. His significant contributions during this period were recognized with seven consecutive awards for achieving first-place rankings in financial indicators.
From 2006 to 2007, Mauricio took on the role of Academic Director of Professional Programs, where he faced the challenge of obtaining accreditation for the Institute's engineering and business programs from both CACECA and CACEI. His leadership not only secured these crucial accreditations but also elevated the preparatory school to be recognized among the top three preparatories within the Tec system, alongside achieving notable recognition from CENEVAL for student performance.
Between 2007 and 2017, as Campus Director, Mauricio oversaw substantial growth in student enrollment. There was a remarkable 35% increase in the professional population, a staggering 300% growth in the graduate enrollment, and a 32% rise in preparatory school enrollment. During this period, the campus was acknowledged as a Socially Responsible Company by SEMEFI. Additionally, it earned recognition as a Great Place to Work in both 2011 and 2012. Mauricio implemented various professional programs within the Excellence Pattern established by CENEVAL, improved campus infrastructure, and expanded physical facilities by an impressive 8,500 square meters of classrooms and academic areas.
Since 2017, Mauricio has been serving as the Director of Regional Support Services in Mexico City. In this pivotal role, he coordinates numerous functions including conservation, maintenance, treasury, infrastructure, construction, and security. His commitment to excellence is demonstrated through the creation of control dashboards and key performance indicators across departments, markedly enhancing service perceptions to levels exceeding 90%.

Mauricio's academic background is robust and diverse. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Instituto Tecnológico de Orizaba.
