Such an honor to find myself on this list of distinguished economists who have gone through the AEA Summer Training Program! Attending this program at Duke, and receiving a Minority Scholarship to facilitate my attendance, was pivotal in terms of my decision to pursue a doctorate in Economics. It also provided me with some AWESOME networking opportunities, at least one of which directly led me to my current role. It was also hugely rewarding to serve as a Teaching Assistant / Instructor for the program in 2011 at UC Santa Barbara and in a more intensive role during 2012 at the University of New Mexico. Some of my students from that time period are also on the list, particularly from UNM. Always so proud of my students! I look forward to the 50th anniversary event next month!
