Medha Sawhney is a Computer Science Thesis Graduate student at Virginia Tech with a keen interest in Computer Vision and Machine Learning applications. She currently serves as a full-time Graduate Assistant at the Informatics Lab, Virginia Tech, working on research projects focusing on Machine Learning and funded by the university.
Medha completed her Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications from Manipal Institute of Technology before pursuing her Master of Science (Thesis) in Computer Science at Virginia Tech. Her academic journey also includes studies at La Martiniere Girls' College.
Prior to her current role, Medha gained valuable experience as an ML Engineer I in the R&D Data Science Team at HP. She also worked as a Research And Development Intern in the Machine Learning Team at HP and as a Research Assistant at the Center for Visual Information & Technology at IIIT Hyderabad.
In addition to her professional roles, Medha has been actively involved in various organizations such as Learn IT, Girl; GirlScript Foundation; The Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz Ltd; RoboManipal; Women Techmakers Manipal; and IECSE Manipal, where she held positions ranging from Scholar to Student Mentor and Coding Team Head.
