Michael Craig is an Assistant Professor in Energy Systems at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability. He is actively seeking dedicated PhD and MS students with strong analytical backgrounds to collaborate on system-driven interdisciplinary research endeavors. Michael's research focus is to advance sustainability and equity by utilizing technoeconomic optimization models to analyze the costs, benefits, and trade-offs linked to low-carbon technologies and environmental policies in the energy domain. His work often involves applying capacity expansion (CE) and unit commitment and economic dispatch (UCED) models to offer insights for real-world policy-making and technology choices.

Michael's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Science in Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a specialization in Biology/Ecology Track and Environmental Engineering Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis.
