Michael Dean is a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience in the fields of food and agriculture, venture capital, environmental sustainability, carbon markets, social impact, and law. As a founding partner at AgFunder, a prominent global venture capital and media platform focusing on food and agriculture technology, Michael brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the industry. He obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Sydney and his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Queensland University of Technology.

Passionate about fostering innovation and driving positive change within the food system, Michael has actively invested in and supported various agrifood technology startups that are dedicated to addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with nourishing an ever-expanding global population. Throughout his career, Michael has held key positions in reputable organizations, including being the Founder and Executive Director at GROW AgriFood Impact Accelerator, a Member of the Board of Directors at Intelligent Growth Solutions Limited, and a Board Observer at Ai Palette, among others. Additionally, he has actively participated as an investor in several noteworthy ventures within the realm of agrifood technology and sustainability, including companies such as Fieldin, Wefarm, DeHaat, Brightseed, Connecterra BV, and Trace Genomics, to name a few.
