What makes a great workshop? 🤓
A few weeks passed since an awesome training with the COS team in their London HQ and I've had the time to reflect 🧐
I've held numerous workshops in the past, but this one was particularly exciting and left me feeling energised even after speaking for an entire day. Which we all know is not always the case after a long day of training ...📚
So what was so different about this one? Here are my takeaways:
1️⃣ Alignment and clear ownership 🙋♀️ - Brooklyn Mentoya & Annabelle Brown were the self nominated owners of this event. We had several syncs to understand their needs and expectations and build the agenda accordingly.
2️⃣Time dedication and preparation from the team 🏅- You can learn a lot in a few hours of the workshop but often what might be a blocker is participants with various levels of knowledge. To dive into more complex topics, pre-reading is a must.
Thanks to the ladies above for motivating the team to put in the effort to get certified in Contentsquare ahead of the day.
3️⃣ Management buy-in 🤝 - When even the Head of Ecom is willing to sit with the team and get their hands dirty, the rest of the team will follow in the path to become more data driven! Thanks to Ana Gordo for joining us .
4️⃣ Joining in person and being present - While online events can also have their benefits of scalability and convenience, nothing beats in-person interactions and the ease of sitting down together, having a small debate, asking the facilitator to come over for a question etc. But just joining is not enough... being willing to set your emails aside and truly being present is what makes the difference.
Thanks to everyone in the COS team for leaving the PJs and emails behind that day and joining us in the office!
What makes a great workshop for you as a coach / participant? Let me know in the comments ⬇
