Deputy High Commissioner Australia High Commission in Bangladesh

Nardia Simpson is the Deputy High Commissioner at the Australian High Commission Dhaka, assuming the role in January 2021.

Prior to this position, she has had a diverse career with experiences at the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Ms. Simpson's background includes work as a legal advisor in the infrastructure sector in India and Australia before transitioning to roles in development programs, ministerial offices, and in sanctions and transnational crime.

She has also served as the Counsellor (Economic) at the Australian Embassy in the Philippines from 2016 to 2020 and as the Director of Climate Negotiations.

Nardia Simpson is an alumnus of the University of New South Wales, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, and the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, where she earned her Masters of Philosophy in Development Studies.
