As I walked down Michigan Avenue, coming from #MillenniumPark and heading north, I turned left onto Randolph Street. There it was ✨ —the artwork of my brother, Hamid Alavi, proudly displayed by the Design Museum of Chicago.

Seeing his name was a moment I will never forget. My heartbeat raced with excitement as I witnessed my family member’s name celebrated in such a positive way here in the heart of #Chicago. 🌟 🌇

As a Middle Eastern American, this was a profoundly unique and joyous experience. Hamid’s work, which has been awarded at prestigious international competitions like the Red Dot Design Award 🏆, now graces the streets of #Chicago, contributing to our city’s #inclusive environment. It was a powerful reminder of how art can create a sense of #belonging and community.

Hamid Alavi is a brilliant artist whose talent spans from industrial design to graphic design. His work is available for a range of clients, from large corporations to small non-profits, and he thrives in collaborating with creative teams to convey meaningful messages to their communities and stakeholders. His services are not only exceptional in quality but also reasonably priced 💸 .

For those interested in learning more about Hamid’s work, I’ll share his website in the comments. I am thrilled to introduce Hamid to my network and encourage you to explore his incredible talent.

✨ "A memoir about what it’s like when they think you’re their daughter, but you know you’re their son."✨

As we get through the second half of #PrideMonth2024 🌈 , I want to highlight an incredible book that profoundly impacted me and my young children, ages 9 and 11. “DOTSON” by Grayson Lee White shares his courageous and joyful journey of transition, supported by his loving family. Written by a middle schooler for middle schoolers, it’s an easy-to-read memoir that starts with his hormone blockers and traces back to when he first expressed his true identity at age 2.

One reviewer described it as “funny and authentic,” with illustrations that bring the story to life. Another noted how it changed their understanding of the transgender experience, making it a must-read for anyone wanting to support their loved ones.

#DOTSON is now available in paperback with discussion questions, making it great for kids, teachers, parents, and even seniors who want to better grasp gender identity. This book has been a beacon of hope for us, showing the bravery it takes to be one’s #authenticself.

Here’s to celebrating #Pride Month and striving for a world where everyone can achieve their dreams and live authentically. Cheers to Grayson, an inspiring author at the start of a bright journey! 📚
