“focus on people in a transition” this is such a good advice from Gina Bianchini.

Goes beyond the traditional ‘niche’ down advice.

Because—even within a niche—the people who join paid communities, buy online courses, and participate in challenges have ONE thing in common.

They’re in a transition.

They need support, accountability, and motivation from others on the same path.

Once you start thinking like this, you will find solution to all your community problems:

  • your landing page should convey “Where are you going?”

  • your community’s purpose should be to make people more successful in the transition

  • not to convince more people to make the transition

  • not to help people “find belonging” - that isn’t actionable enough. Nobody wakes up one day and says i need to find belonging

  • all the programs, live events you do should be a solution to “what are the different challenges the member can face while they are in the middle of this transition”

Wow can’t believe i had never thought about communities this way.

This week, Bri Leever connected me with Michelle Cherian (thanks Bri)! This is an appreciation post for Michelle.

I hopped on the call to brainstorm how to get more customers (for Curated Connections). In the ~45 minutes, Michelle was able to understand my business and give me perspective.

I ended up with one clear action item that I kinda knew I was hiding away from - talk to my existing customers. So that's what I'm going to do now!

If you're a founder who needs help with finding product-market fit or growing your SaaS product, connect with Michelle! You can find her here or visit her gorgeous website (https://lnkd.in/gsuQksTc) to learn more about her (including the "13 unrelated facts" that I wish i knew before we hopped on the call!).
