Odysseas Sclavounis is a dedicated PhD student at the Oxford Internet Institute with a focus on the governance and development of public blockchains. He is also a doctoral student at the Alan Turing Institute, receiving funding for his research endeavors. Prior to pursuing his PhD, Odysseas obtained an MSc in Social Science of the Internet at the Oxford Internet Institute, where his thesis delved into reputation systems in cryptomarkets. Furthermore, his academic journey includes a BA in political science and institutional theory from King's College London.

Odysseas has delved into the impact of blockchain technology on transaction costs within the financial system, leading to publications on this subject. Actively engaging in the academic community, he participates in conferences and workshops focusing on blockchain technology. Additionally, he has a role in organizing academic events both at the Oxford Internet Institute and the Alan Turing Institute, contributing through journal reviews.

Beyond academia, Odysseas Sclavounis draws from his expertise to provide consultancy services on blockchain technology to private firms across various industries. Before embarking on his advanced studies, he fulfilled a mandatory year of military service within the Greek navy.
