Patrick Hamilton

Lecturer in Medical Science (E&S) at the University of Exeter

Patrick Hamilton is a lecturer in Medical Science and BMBS at the University of Exeter, where he teaches a diverse range of courses including Genetics, Biochemistry, and Human Genetics.

With a background in Molecular evolution of parasites, Patrick has conducted research projects using DNA-based techniques to explore evolutionary questions and understand populations in the wild.

During his postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Exeter, he focused on studying the impact of endocrine disrupting pollutants on fish populations in the aquatic environment.

Aside from his academic pursuits, Patrick is also involved in music and tutors the lower strings at Exeter Children's Orchestra.

His educational journey includes a PGCE in Secondary Science from the University of Exeter, a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and a PhD in Molecular evolution of parasites from the University of Bristol.
