How do you assess your next career opportunity? Should I stay or should I go?
I get this question a lot when I get the chance to network with others in the community.
The answer for me has always been "choose the most unique opportunity in front of you - that way you are always learning"
Maybe you have two opportunities in front of you:
- Same domain, and similar role and you could "knock it out of the park".
- Something you have never done before, and may be a little intimidating to go for.
The reality is you could always get job #1 - maybe not at the same company but certainly in one that is similar. If you optimize for uniqueness of experience the choice is clear.
My career was basically
- B2B marketing software
- B2B sales software and next I had options to go back B2B marketing software, but Wealthsimple came along B2C - financial services???
Best decision I have ever made - I have learned more in the last 3.5 years than in my last 10 before that. And I am still learning.
Build a career of unique experiences and you will have maximized the best part of working - your own personal growth.
I am really excited to announce a partnership that we have been working on for some time with Hunter Williams and Rippling.
We now have a new integration with Rippling to provide simplified workplace savings programs to Canadian teams.
Together, Wealthsimple and Rippling are revolutionizing the way sponsors can offer workplace savings plans by eliminating hours of administrative work from each pay run, allowing organizations to focus on what really matters: their employees.
Are you an HR or Total Rewards professional who is tired of spending more time on admin vs. the programs that really provide impact?
If this is you or your team, please shoot me a note or read more below.
