His thirst for knowledge and innovation led him to the shores of Iceland, where he achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Iceland in 2015.
During the critical years of 2013 and 2014, Dr. Ghamisi enhanced his expertise through his role at the School of Geography, Planning, and Environmental Management at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Shortly thereafter, he became an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at the prestigious Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Heidelberg University in Germany. His remarkable journey did not stop there; he served as a Research Scientist with the renowned German Aerospace Center (DLR) from 2015 to 2018, where he further advanced the boundaries of remote sensing and image analysis.
Having established a formidable foundation, Dr. Ghamisi took on a pivotal role as the Head of the Machine Learning Group at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) in 2018. Beyond this position, he has co-founded VasoGnosis Inc., located in Milwaukee, WI, USA, which focuses on developing advanced diagnostic tools leveraging cloud computing and deep learning for brain diseases.
