Peter McArdle, originally from Wiradjuri Country in Australia's Murray-Darling Basin, has a diverse background having lived and worked in the Middle East while researching water scarcity.

He is a passionate advocate of the Medici Effect, believing in the power of diverse perspectives and backgrounds in generating innovative ideas, especially in the intersection of water engineering and social science.

His educational journey includes a PhD in Water Scarcity, Conflict, and the Community Experience from the University of Sydney, as well as studies in Water Conflict Management, Peace and Conflict Studies, and Civil Engineering.

Peter has gained extensive experience through various roles such as Operations Coordinator for COVID-19 in the Asia Pacific with the IFRC, Board Director at Engineers Without Borders Australia, and positions at organizations like the Red Cross and ICRC focusing on water, sanitation, and habitat projects in regions like Nepal, Africa, and the Middle East.
