What protects your mental health?

June is men's mental health awareness month, as well as PTSD awareness month. Honestly, a bit of a shame that it's not every. single. day.

Something I do to support mine: spent last week in silence at 9000’ - only two pics before renouncing my phone: my base camp and my view.

Such a necessary, powerful experience, including:

*sleeping with the flaps on my tent up - and awakening most days to a thin layer of ice on top of it

*20+ more miles on my boots, building deeper intimacy with place

*sitting so still a playful hummingbird flew up, looked at me, kissed my thumb, looked at me again, and flew off to do what hummingbirds do

*random encounters with moose - and myself

*repeating cycles of layers on, layers off - ah, mountain weather

*so much sky - and all the elements!

This is home = wherever I am.

When I love the world - the world loves me back.

That's all … coming back feeling alive, whole, fully present and ready to re-engage.

Let's do this.

Getting ready for 2024, are you more focused on what you’ll DO - or are you ready to think about how you’ll BE?

Here's the scoop: we’re launching the inaugural Warrior Compassion Men’s Retreat the end of January at the ChoZen retreat center in Sebastien, Florida – mixing elements from Sean Harvey, MSOD, MSEd’s book, "Warrior Compassion: Unleashing the Healing Power of Men", throwing in some of my own work around presence and power dynamics from my book "The Diversity in Humanity", and adding in essential bits from Ken Mossman’s Integrated Adult Man (IAM) program.

This retreat is not just going to be transformative; it's going to be a game-changer, filled with memories and shared experiences among some pretty incredible guys.

I don’t know about you, but I’m done trying to do any of this thing called life alone.

Picture this: no more than two dozen of us, maybe some alligators on the sidelines (because why not add a bit of wild to the mix?), surrounded by 22,000 acres of wild semi-tropical awesomeness in Florida to share what we're passionate about, support each other, and, of course, have some serious connective fun in the process of moving beyond what we'll DO in 2024 to include how we'll BE - at work, at home, and at play.

I’m so honored to be working with Sean and Ken and everyone who’s able to join. So, here's the deal: mark your calendar for January 30 at the ChoZen retreat center in Sebastian, Florida - and let's make some epic memories together at the first-ever Warrior Compassion Men’s Retreat.

Can't wait to see you there!
