Rachel Goodermote

Humanitarian Health & Public Health Surveillance

Rachel Goodermote is a Global Health and humanitarian professional with significant project management experience. She possesses technical skills in capacity building, surveillance, and information management, with a focus on translating epidemiological and clinical evidence for public health interventions. Rachel has an extensive international work background that includes regions in East and West Africa, Europe, and Indonesia.

Her educational background includes an MSPH in International Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, a BA in Anthropology from Bates College, and high school education at Carrabassett Valley Academy.

Rachel has held various roles in prestigious organizations such as Senior Emergency Health Officer for Risk and Surveillance at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Prior to this, she served as a Community Based Surveillance Adviser at IFRC. Rachel has also worked as a Migrant Protection and Assistance Information Management Officer, Data Analyst, and Information Management Consultant at the IOM - UN Migration. She was an International Public Health and Nutrition Management (I-PHN) Fellow at Action Against Hunger - ACF-USA. Additionally, Rachel has experience as a Marketing Lead at Arc'teryx Equipment, in environment and health program support at Physicians for Social Responsibility, in disaster risk reduction program support at Mercy Corps, and as a researcher at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Rachel Goodermote has also been actively involved in various other positions such as the Gordon Croft Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, the Health Emergencies in Large Populations (HELP) Summer Institute Coordinator at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, an Action Sports Specialist at REI, and an Intern at the Center for International Policy focusing on Global Financial Integrity.
