It's out! Has been really fun and rewarding to be working on our DEFI API within Blockdaemon.

Access our DEFI protocol aggregator: cross-chain swaps, DEX, AMM, and pricing data all in one API here https://lnkd.in/eDE6qHgf

🚀 UPDATE 🚀 The last months have been busy. As the velocity of development in the blockchain space skyrockets, let us recall a piece written by Edd Gent on interoperability as of the end of 2021: https://lnkd.in/e3VTUD64

In 2021, interoperability needed to be expanded in scope and cost efficiency. At the time, solutions were ad-hoc, immature, and not following standards (which did not exist). Nowadays, we count on mature, battle-tested interoperability solutions such as LayerZero Labs, Connext Labs, and various production-ready bridges. However, there are still open challenges (https://lnkd.in/eiR4zQEE), being the most prominent security & monitoring, which the community is addressing at this very moment.

In our perspective, a natural evolution that brings a more secure and seamless user experience is leveraging bridge aggregators (see recent Uniswap Labs report on cross-chain technologies, https://lnkd.in/eAeHnTaM). Bridge aggregators will alleviate the wide attack vector space by applications relying on a quorum of bridges/cross-chain technologies. Some notable examples are Hyperlane and LI.FI.

To realize this vision, we need not only to develop the theory and practice of bridge aggregators but also to have a comprehensive understanding of blockchain interoperability security - and privacy. I would like to announce a few projects that (hopefully) are valuable for the crypto community that we are actively developing, along with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Instituto Superior Técnico, INESC-ID, Duke Kunshan University, Hyperledger Foundation, and Blockdaemon.

First, we are actively developing blockchain interoperability standards for digital asset transfers. As decentralized financial infrastructure develops, one will need resilient and secure bridging to centralized infrastructure. The Secure Asset Transfer Protocol working group at the IETF is working on this. We welcome all to the discussions of our group: https://lnkd.in/eN3uVuQJ

Secondly, we are launching the first comprehensive benchmark of bridge aggregators. This is an open-source ongoing project that we are documenting here https://lnkd.in/erjaTXVj (with Shankar Subramanian and André Augusto). Code here: https://lnkd.in/eudtG-Pn

Lastly, we are putting together the most comprehensive survey on security and privacy of interoperability - expect to read the full report in the following months! (with André Augusto, Luyao Zhang, Ph.D., Thomas Hardjono, André Vasconcelos and Miguel Pupo Correia).
