My wife and I just got back from our vacation in Philadelphia.

I've been to Philadelphia, but I had never really explored Philadelphia. While there, we went to multiple museums, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and Valley Forge. (Valley Forge was quite something!) And while there, I read the Pulitzer Prize-winning book 1776 by David McCullough.

In other words, it was a learning vacation. A terrific learning vacation.

What do you do to keep learning? The challenge for all of us is to keep at it; to seriously tackle our next learning challenge; to be a serious, diligent, lifelong learner.

One of the two books for our September gathering is How Leaders Learn, by the former CEO of Yum! Brands. It will help you learn how to learn, and challenge you to keep learning!

Today is National Book Lovers Day. I read more than a book a week. The mean for Americans is 4 books…a year. People who attend the First Friday Book Synopsis hear two thorough, comprehensive synopses each month. Reading a book for yourself is better; but folks get more than enough to elevate their game, and move forward, from my synopses.
