Highlights
Incredible experience competing in the Top Chef Challenge at the Vegan Women Summit in Hollywood, CA. This was my first time competing in a cooking competition and I loved pushing my creative boundaries to see what I was capable of.
I created a dish unique and meaningful to me: "Dan Dan Manti," a Chinese-Turkish dish I made just for this competition. It reflects the culinary traditions of two countries that have a special place in my heart: China, where my parents immigrated from, and Turkey, a country I served as a U.S. diplomat in (Dish details in comments).
It was an honor to compete with Ratbek Sadvakasov and Adjoa “Chef Joya” Courtney, two incredible professional chefs who also cooked from their hearts. Thank you to Erin Ireland, Alexis Regan, and Pamela Nualart for tasting my dish and to the sponsors, Mellody®, Impossible Foods, and Lazy Acres Natural Market.
Also great to reconnect with Jennifer Stojkovic, who invited me to attend VWS at the Social Enterprise Conference at Harvard two months ago, meet Bob Nabati and his adorable dog Pepe, and catch up with Luiza Villela!
