The average attention span dropped from 2.5 minutes to 45 seconds.

Keeping employees engaged in today’s fast-paced world is a real challenge. But it’s not impossible.

Here’s what works:

  • Embrace shorter, dynamic content
  • Encourage social interactions
  • Build in movement
  • Provide good nutrition
  • Use technology mindfully

Think dopamine: creating a small reward system can boost focus and retention.

How do you keep your team connected and focused?

I launched TalentNow four years ago and can't believe how far we have come.

Remembering March 2020:

  • I returned to NYC from Istanbul two days before the pandemic shut down the city
  • I found out a fellow passenger on my flight died from covid
  • All our clients fired us because no one was hiring
  • Couldn't leave my home to see family and friends
  • Received the confirmation that TalentNow was officially an LLC on March 27, 2020

So what did I learn?

  • Ask for help when you need it
  • Be kind to yourself
  • Keep showing up
  • Take it one day at a time
  • You can only go up

So very grateful to friends, mentors, and colleagues: Shaunice Hawkins, Ana Mollinedo Mims, Sandy Lionetti, Cheryl LoMaglio, Bernard Angeles, Carrie SiuButt, Gabrielle Guttman, Liza Sherman, Patrick Sullivan, Jr., Rachael Katz, Sunny Bates, Nicole White, Suzannah Taylor, Eric Lewis, Dan Moore, M.D., Susan Kim, Marybeth Reynoso, Kirk Wallace, John McCarus, Elizabeth Aceituno, Ellen Rose
