Robert Highland, also known as Bob Highland, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in business development, sales management, partner marketing, and direct marketing. He has a strong track record in establishing successful partnerships with renowned brands and delivering significant financial outcomes. Bob is currently the Head of Business Development for Barclaycard US, overseeing all new partnership initiatives and has been instrumental in securing partnerships with major brands like Williams-Sonoma, Hawaiian Airlines, UPromise Wyndham, and Choice hotels, leading to the creation of new card programs valued at over $3 billion in assets.

Before his current role, Bob held various key positions at American Express, where he spent over 8 years. He served as the Vice President of OPEN Savings, managing partner relationships, program marketing, and strategy. The OPEN Savings program, under his leadership, was highly successful and recognized as a leading business savings initiative in the industry, providing nearly $100 million in savings annually to small business owners. The program included partnerships with distinguished brands such as FedEx, Hyatt, Marriott, Delta, JetBlue, and Hertz.

Earlier in his career at American Express, Bob was the Vice President of Strategic Alliances, focused on co-branding strategies and alternative distribution channels. He successfully negotiated a significant co-brand agreement with Lowe's during his tenure. Prior to that, he held a position as the Director of Partner Marketing in North America for the Travelers Cheques & Prepaid Services Group, where he led a team in driving sales of prepaid products through strategic channels. Additionally, Bob worked in the Establishment Services Group, concentrating on merchant acquisition, and played a key role in negotiating contracts with major retailers like Stop & Shop and the LA Dodgers.

Before his tenure at American Express, Bob gained valuable sales experience during his nearly 10-year tenure at FedEx and Thomson Learning. He is a graduate of the Paul W. Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University, holding both an MBA and a B.S. in Marketing.
