Robert Watt, known as Rob, is an accomplished professional holding undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of London. He serves as the Director of Communications at the prestigious Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), where he leads a team of communication experts dedicated to bridging the gap between science and policy.

Throughout his tenure at SEI, which spans a decade, Rob has successfully enhanced the organization's communication and engagement capabilities, focusing on developing efficient science-policy communication strategies tailored to meet the requirements and expectations of various stakeholders. His efforts have propelled SEI to a prominent position, with consistent rankings among the top two think tanks globally specializing in environmental policy.

Rob's areas of expertise include communications strategy, science-policy dialogue, ethics in communication, and leveraging communication for impactful outcomes. He is deeply interested in the science of communication, integrating research insights into practical communication and engagement approaches. An avid writer and speaker, Rob frequently shares his knowledge on these subjects and holds the esteemed role of chairperson and co-founder of the Swedish Network for Science Communication, Forskom.

Prior to his role at SEI, Rob's professional journey included serving as a UK diplomat stationed in Brussels, along with advisory positions in the Cabinet Office and the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (Defra). His educational background features a Master of Arts with Distinction in Comparative Literature and a Bachelor of Arts with First-Class Honors in French Literature, both from University College London, University of London.
