Does your organization have an idea for a software product, but don't have anyone to implement it? I am looking for industry clients for final year Software Engineering projects at Monash University.
These are full year projects that are undertaken in teams of four or five, and the students are responsible for all aspects: getting requirements from clients, managing their own projects, implementing and testing the software, and seeing to it that the product that is delivered meets their clients' needs. They meet with an academic supervisor on a regular basis to ensure that they are making progress and to get advice on any problems that they are having. They will meet with you, the client, on a sufficiently frequent basis to keep you in the loop as to their progress.
Projects can be done for companies, community groups, or even small groups of friends -- the software industry is large and varied, and we like to present our students with a selection of projects that reflect that variety. We do prefer to have our teams work on projects that aren't mission-critical, though. Team members are still students, so we can't promise that they will succeed (although most do succeed), but we won't charge you for the work they do.
